Aimpoint has once again advanced the standard for pistol-mounted optics with the introduction of the Acro P-2 red dot sight. This next-generation sight incorporates an improved LED emitter coupled with a higher capacity CR2032 battery to provide an astonishing five years (50,000 hours) of constant-on power while getting you on target faster and more accurately. Designed to endure the physical forces generated by semi-automatic pistol slides, the ACRO series was the first pistol sight to offer a fully enclosed optical channel to protect the LED emitter. Built to exceed the requirements of professional users, Acro P-2 Red Dot Sights have been tested and proven to withstand the extreme shock, vibration, temperatures, and material stresses generated by firing over 20,000 rounds of .40 S&W ammunition. The new high efficiency LED emitter provides a sharp 3.5 MOA dot. Protective clear glass front and rear lenses guard the advanced reflective lens system. The new digital intensity adjustment keypad provides a more distinct tactile feel when adjusting the dot intensity, and these controls are now placed next to the battery compartment to help protect the power adjustments against unintentional changes. In addition to use as a primary optic on handguns, the Acro P-2 can be mounted on carbines, shotguns and rifles or utilized as a backup sight on magnified scopes and thermal imagers. The sight can be mounted on a wide range of optics-ready handguns using adapter plates. It is night vision compatible, and the dot can also be turned up for use in bright sunlight. Aimpoint Red Dot Sights & Accessories are operationally parallax-free, which means the visible dot remains parallel to the bore of your weapon no matter what angle your eye is in relation to the sight. Therefore, the user never has to worry about centering the dot inside the sight. If you have a proper zero, when the dot is on the target, so are you. Aimpoint Red Dot Sights & Accessories increase confidence by allowing the shooter to focus on the target while keeping both eyes open, fully situationally aware at all times. Users can achieve first round hits faster with greater confidence. The quality is there! And that’s kinda the problem, they have extremely over built it which I know I shouldn’t be complaining about, but because the body is so thick the window is extremely small. Training is always a must, but with this it’s training times 10!

Purchased this optic after much review. The optic is top quality in construction and has awesome clarity and a really sharp dot.

The p-2 is a great optic. I have the p-1 and it’s closet upgrade. The battery for one and the glass seems a lot clearer. Aimpoint has always had amazing optics and products. I’m excited to run this on more setups. It was definitely worth the wait. Optics planet is always great and fast with shipping and customer service.

I wanted to try the acro p2 out on my stealth arms platypus and it’s amazing and accurate and the glass on the optic is crystal clear

Got the Acro P-2 to mount on my Glock 17 (gen 4, MOS) which is my everyday carry gun. The P-2 mounted up easily using Aimpoint MOS plate. The build quality of the P-2 seems to be top notch and looks to be over built.Note on closed emitter design: I ran an open emitter red dot on the G17 for years and while it was great when it was clean, all sorts of stuff (lint, water, mud, etc.) would get onto the emitter window and dot would fade or disappear until the emitter was cleaned off. If you are going to use a red dot on a carry piston I strongly recommend going with an enclosed emitted design (P-2 or other), knowing your optic is going to work for less than a minute in even a moderately strong rain is just a bad feeling. The P-2 is clearly a closed emitter design, it should function just fine in rain/snow/etc. and if it gets dragged through the mud you can wipe off the windows quickly and be good to go (unlike having to pick mud out of a recessed emitter window with a Q-tip). There are a couple things I don't like about the P-2:-The top and sides of the optic are quite thick. This make the window smaller and decreases the field of view. Any enclosed emitter design is going to have the "looking through a tunnel" view compared to "looking through a piece of glass with some metal edges" view of open emitter designs, but the P-2 makes the tunnel walls really thick and this does decrease your field of view.-Too high to co-witness with stock sights. Some newer red dots have a low enough deck hight to co-witness with stock hight sights. The P-2 is clearly on the larger side but by moving the battery to the side of the optic you would think Aimpoint could have lowered the deck enough to co-witness the stock sights. But, not a big deal to put some suppressor sights on.-The actual dot is not perfectly circular. I've used a handful of other red dots that have all had relatively crips, circular dots. The dot on the P-2 is slightly vertically elongated with weird edges. This doesn't have any impact on performance but for this price point it could definitely be better. This Acro P-2 is replacing a Holosun EPS red dot (Holosun's recent enclosed pistol red dot.) Compared to the P-2 the Holosun has much thinner walls and ceiling and really does provide a better view. Now, the Holosun EPS I got would not hold zero and was returned as I wouldn't trust a replacement on my carry gun should I really need it.My previous red dot had shake-awake feature and would automatically adjust to ambient light, this sounds great in theory but when standing in the shade and shooting at a well lit target the red dot would be much dimmer than optimal. An even worse situation was using a pistol light at night: at close range my StreamLight would very brightly illuminate anything at close range but the red dot would be too dim to see at all against the bright target. The P-2 battery life and brightness are really good. The standard "7" setting is plenty bright for daylight or using a weapon light in total darkness. 5 years of battery life with common CR2032 is quite nice as well.
