AimPoint CompM4 and CompM4s 2 MOA Red Dot Sight w/out Mount are the finest sights that Aimpoint has ever produced. Improvements include improved energy efficiency that provides up to 8 years of continuous use from a single AA battery! Aimpoint Red Dot Sights from CompM4 series of sights are available in two versions: The CompM4 offers a high battery compartment, while the CompM4s offers a low battery compartment. In all other aspects, the Aimpoint CompM4 and Aimpoint CompM4s Red Dot Sight are identical. The CompM4 is now the latest version of the US Army’s M68 CCO (Close-Combat Optic), continuing a legacy that Aimpoint has maintained since 1997. The performance of the CompM4 series of sights is optimized for use with all generations of night vision devices (NVDs), but is especially suited for 3rd generation night vision technology. Aimpoint ‘s unique band-pass coating on the front lens reflects select frequencies of red light at near 100% efficiency in order to give the highest possible dot brightness with the smallest amount of energy while transmitting nearly 100% of light in the Infrared and near-infrared part of the spectrum to provide the clearest, brightest image possible when used with a 3rd generation NVD. With 7 NVD-compatible brightness settings and 9 Daylight settings including one extra-bright setting, the Red Dot Sight CompM4 and CompM4s by Aimpoint are ready for use around the clock. This was my first buy with Optics Planet. I was happy with their customer service and will do business with them again. As far as Aimpoint, well hands down the best optic for the money. Period. I own 3 CompM4s and have had zero problems. I highly recommend the Larue mount for this optic.

I purchased this item from Optics Planet on Nov. 21, 2012. Optics Planet had one of the best prices around, but coupled with one of their excellent coupons, I couldn't find a single place that could beat the price. I decided on this red dot over the rest for two primary reasons: the best battery life of any red dot I know of regardless of cost and its extreme durability. I haven't yet owned the red dot long enough to test the 8 year continuous on battery life claim, but I have seen no issues with mine granted I turn mine off after each use. The videos demonstrating the durability of Aimpoint optics are impressive to say the least. While mine sits atop an AR chambered in .223REM, I wouldn't hesitate to put it on anything. I have taken several tactical rifle classes with the optic and never had any issues. The only negative is the cost; however, I truly feel this red dot is worth the cost. I would go with the CompM4s over any Eotech any day. The fact that it uses a single AA battery versus special lithium batteries is a big plus. The Eotech's battery life can't touch the Aimpoint. I firmly believe in the adage, "Buy Once, Cry Once." I also have mine attached with a Bobro QD mount (similar to a Larue Tactical QD mount but in my opinion better and easier). I also have the clear rear flip up Aimpoint cap and the kill flash front Aimpoint cap.Pros: Durable; Long Battery Life; Simple Operation; WaterproofCons: Expensive

I have a Vortex,Leupold, and a Eotech and by far this is the best one in my opinion.Excellent product.Crisp red dot with crystal clear glass. Before I purchased, I used the one my friend had and fell in love otherwise I wouldn't have spent this much money on another red dot. Very accurate and keeps zero no matter how much I've bumped my optic.Set it and forget it. Super bright red dot. No issues on my Ar15 Or my Socom 16 CQB

If your looking for a solid cqb red dot then look no further then this optic. It’s robust, light, and it gets the job done. The battery life is absolutely amazing, I don’t turn it off because I know the batter will last 5 years. Adjustments are easy, and the brightness of the red dot is one of the reasons I chose this over Eotech.

What more is there to say… this optic is proven and I’ll always be a fan. It’s a bit heavy compared to some other optics if your goal is weight reduction. My only complaint is that optics planet sent it without a battery cap (-1 star). Hats off to aimpoint though. They sent a replacement very quickly.

I picked up this Unit a few months back. I have several Aimpoint Micro’s, a Pro, Several ACOGS, a TR24 and an Eotech…. This easily stands out. Crisp clean Red Dot, Extremely High Quality Tube… Runs on a single AA Battery for 8 years. The only thing even close is the LED ACOG… And that just because I was Issued a Trijicon in the USMC.
