Armasight Helios HD is the best purchase I have ever made. I have been using night vision optics for a long time and this is my first thermal imaging device. Honestly, I wasn’t sure about this unit because of its huge objective lens and high cost, but a great range of features which I consider to be useful, changed my mind. Well, the lens is still giant, hah, but the quality of image I get and the distance it can cover makes this device totally worth it. Like to have so many ways to improve the quality, possibility to adjust device just for myself, and an opportunity to use it at night and at day, as I don’t need to take both types of devices with me anymore, the Helios is enough. Can detect even the smallest creatures, that were usually invisible for me when I used night-time optics.

What if I told you that the last time I held a thermal scope in my hands was 8 years ago? Since then I didn’t really follow the course of technology development. Can you imagine how much I was surprised last week when I found myself holding a Helios thermal bi-ocular with 100 mm lens and ability to record video? Well, this scope is a real technological advancement. My mind was completely blown by a picture quality and usability of the unit. Even though I didn’t look through the manual before switching the scope on, it took me several minutes to figure out the way everything works. I was impressed by all the ways to improve picture quality (which is close to perfect without any filters). Won’t describe them all, since it will take me another passage or two. All in all, Helios integrates two the most important things for me: exceptional imagery quality with the ease of use. You can believe me when I say it’s really hard to combine these two almost mutually exclusive things in one device. Helios copes with this task brilliantly!
