The Armasight Watchman IR Illuminator is a must have for anyone in the field using night vision devices. Powered by VCSEL technology, the Watchman IR Illuminator helps positively ID targets and track prey beyond 500 yards. This device features three brightness setting to aid visibility when there is low to no ambient light available and can focus as low as 3 degrees and out to a 14-degree field of view. The Watchman works great as a handheld unit however, if mission dictates you can mount it to your firearm or night vision device via the included 30mm ring. The push button tail cap can be swapped out for the provided tape switch if more tactical application is needed. The body is constructed with aircraft grade aluminum and is built to be shockproof and waterproof level IP67. Since IR illuminations are invisible to the naked eye, a small red light located at the tail cap will light up when the unit is on. If you do accidentally leave the illuminator on you wont have to get a new battery. Simply recharge the 18650 with the included charging cord. I’ve had several ir illuminators over the years. When I purchased this Watchman I thought I was just getting a smaller more compact version of ir lights I’ve had in the past. WRONG! This guy blows every other ir illuminator out of the water, it’s not even close. When used in flood mode, there’s nothing that I can’t see, and then to top it off, you can dial this thing down to almost a laser that goes further than I can possibly see (even with my 6x nv scope). Showed my neighbor and he was blown away and bought one as well.

This light has it all, strong aluminum body, light weight, and the size is great for pocket carry, and a great size to mount on a rifle. The light is super bright, and the 18650 battery is the only way to go. I had purchased a sniper hog light some time ago, but I prefer this light over it any day. I would highly recommend this light to anyone needing an IR light.

I ordered this IR light to enhance my predator hunting capabilities and to augment the smaller IR lights Ive been using. This light has exceed my expectations. I have been able to illuminate targets clearly beyond 400 yards on dark and light nights alike with NVGs. The size and weight are minimal for what it is capable of. The beam is very concentric throughout it's variable beam adjustments. The light can be adjusted from a full flood light to view a wide area at less than 50 yards to a tight beam able to be used on certain targets 400 yards and beyond, and any variation within those two points. The battery life has been good through all tested temperature ranges from +80 Degrees F to -5 Degrees F. The kit included the light, rechargeable battery, pressure switch tail cap, standard tail cap, charging cord, instructions and a 30mm picatinny rail mount.

I have an ATN X-Sight and also have the ATN illuminator. When Armasight came out with the new Watchman, I heard that it may be a better companion to my X-Sight. I decided to get one, and I couldn't be happier. It's less bulky and performs just as good, if not better. It also comes with a pressure push button (huge add-on), which I love. No complaints. I'm verry happy and would definitely recommend!

I was looking for smaller Illuminator to put on my 300 blk for night shooting and this fit the bill. It is a very nice quality built unit that has tremendous range and high quality. You just can't ask for more I defiantly recommend it.

The performance of the emitter and lens are fantastic and punch way above the size and weight of this light. Lighting is even, and the throw is insane. The focusing has good range and is easy and effective. Build quality is very good. There are a few problems with this thing, though. First and foremost, there is no momentary on. It comes with two tailcaps, one a push button and the other a tape switch, except the tape switch is really a remote push button. They behave the same. One push turns the light on, taps afterward cycle the brightness levels, and a long press is required to turn the light off. I originally thought maybe I could splice this with a Surefire type switch and slave it with a laser, but the electronic on/off makes this thing incompatible. The red light is annoyingly large and obvious and even inluded on the tape switch cap. Something like a DBAL running light, which you really don't see unless you're looking for, would be way more welcome.Mounting options aren't great since the body is 30mm. You're pretty much stuck with the included ring. You could do something clever like install the ring on a KDG Kinect rail section so you could take it on and off easily. Aligning the light with your scope is fidgety and requires loosening the ring, tweaking, and retightening. The rear body housing the emitter has some slop in fitment to the front body that houses the lens, so the aim of the beam can shift a little. If you focus the beam all the way down, it takes out most of the slop.None of that takes away from the fact that the Watchman's illumination performance is outsanding. But with a lack of momentary on and ability to control together with a laser, it's pretty much limited to night vision hunting scopes and handheld use.
