Affordable, solid, and reliable are seldom associated with long range shooting and hunting. The Helos BTR GEN2 is the exception. Advanced Fully Multi-Coated lenses and XPL coatings balance out this optic for a wide variety of conditions. Cross-over features such as Locking turrets are not just for hunting, they instill confidence in mid to long range shooters as well. Very good value for the price. The glass is clear and the focus is very easy to operate. The illumination on the reticle is nice for low light conditions. Parallax setting is easy and consistent. Both the elevation and windage turrets have very solid turns and setting zero is simple. Very good features for a scope of the price.

The box came opened, and damaged. The battery was missing, and the zero stop had already been applied. I was definitely put off by it but I had extra batteries and I wanted to give the scope a chance before I sent it back. I will be doing a tracking test and zeroing in a couple of days and if there is anything wrong with the scope that is significant I will be sending it back and going with a different brand, and different company! At this time I can not recommend the product, of Optic planet for their failed quality control, until I've tested the scope further. I did bore site it and it seemed to be dialing okay. Hopefully this scope is all I have heard about Athlon. Next time Optic planet, watch what you send out the door!

This is a great scope in all aspects with one exception, the brighter you turn the reticle the red color seems to create splatter and on high is almost impossible to tell what your hash marks are. 3 is about as high as you can go before the splatter starts. Like the scope but won't be buying another one because of this issue.

I purchased this Athlon Helios First Focal Plane scope for a budget precision build based on the many positive reviews on YouTube. This is a fantastic scope for the price. Glass quality is great, the turrets are superb and the focus adjustment is very smooth. The illuminated reticule is perfect for long range shooting. My only complaint is the illumination knob is smaller than my other scopes, but really isn’t an issue unless you’re wearing gloves. Also, Athlon is an American-based company, but unfortunately their products are made in Asia.
