I guess I expected a lot more from these considering the price. Still debating whether to return them or not. The best I can say about them is that they are better than nothing about half the time. If the moon is not out or if there is less than a half moon they are worthless. Only good for about 100 yard at most. Can distinguish animal type at less than 50 yards.

This product is amazing. I am currently serving in the army and used this type of night vision and this version blows the militaries version out of the water. The military mainly uses the green and black type which when used for long periods like I have strains the eyes and makes it a struggle to look through them for long. This version is blue and white which I think is a million times better because I don't get headaches as much looking through this version and I think it helps me be able to tell what I am looking at better than the green and black. As far for comparisons the one I have used in the army I could probably see about 150 meters and still be able to tell what the object is when there is a full moon. This particular version I could see maybe 300 meters before I couldn't tell what I was looking at in the same conditions. Everything else other than quality in vision is the same as the army's as in how to turn it on and overall durability. The only con I can think of is that they are heavy. The weight of these can cause you to strain the back of your neck during long periods of use. If you never used night vison before don't think its going to make you see just as if it where day time. The moon and cloud cover play a huge role in how well you will be able to see. when it is a new moon or significant cloud cover at night you might not see very far like max distance you could see would be like 10 meters sometimes even with these. Also if you are using these for shooting at night it would be in your best interest to get an infrared laser sight to actually aim your weapon. If you are looking for cheap (or at least not willing to spend 10 grand) night vision goggles, I would highly recommend these.
