I love this scope. I used a hand warmer to zero it at 200 yards. It shows a bright image in pitch blackness. The only issue I had was keeping it charged, since I don't use it daily. I know from experience that even lithium batteries degrade if left plugged in all the time. When I leave it unplugged, the batteries discharge in a few months. I found a device on Amazon called Charge-O-Matic. It's basically a long term timer. I plugged my scope charger into the Charge-O-Matic and set it to come on every 30 days for 8 hours. I run the cord right into the rifle case. Now my scope is fully charged every time I go to use it and the batteries will last for years at this rate.

I bought my THORLT and was very excited, hoping it would be as good as the ATN night vision scope I already owned. I have been pleasantly surprised at its ease of set up and sight in. It takes the knocks and bangs of my maneuvering in the dark and has stayed zeroed. After swapping it to another rifle, I wanted to verify it was still "on". Glad I did, because it was about 4" off. It was still shooting 1/2 dollar sized 5 shot groups at 100 yards, but they were off about 4". 30 seconds later after using the scope's zeroing feature, I was right back on target. Unfortunately, the scope started to "white screen" on me during another sight-in check. After trying all the suggestions on the internet forums, I contacted ATN and they said, "send it back". I did and it wasn't 10 days before I received a NEW scope in the mail. I wasn't expecting that, nor did I want a new scope, and I certainly didn't want ATN to feel like that's what I was expecting! Nonetheless, it's what I have, and I love this one too. So far, not one issue.

Just got the Thor LT 4-8x 160 and so far, I’m impressed. I am sure it is an upper end of an entry level thermal, but for the price it’s just right. I don’t need all the streaming and WiFi enabled etc. I just need to see a target in the dark. I plan to use it for predator removal on my property and I think it will work well. I unpacked everything and immediately hooked up the charger. You just need a 2A cube plug like you use for charging your phone. I have a bunch of them rolling around in a drawer. Says 6 hours to fully charge and after 6 hours it was showing fully charged. I read the manual while I waited and familiarized myself with the features and how to access them. I haven’t mounted it to my rifle because, according to my wife, it’s a Christmas present! and I have to wait! So I just held it and played around with the features and got it adjusted to my liking. I used the cats and dogs as my targets and could clearly tell what I was looking at. Granted, I was looking at them from just over 20 feet, but once I take it outside and scan my fields, I imagine I will be able to adjust it to my environment. If I have problems, I will update the review. I went for this model because I wanted something better than the base model and I couldn’t afford nor do I need, (at least for the moment!), the top of the line model. We don’t have a hog problem up in the PNW, just a seasonal ‘yote problem so I couldn’t convince myself to go bigger when it will be sitting unused more often than not. That could change depending on how good this one preforms. Maybe it will be my new thing and I will “have to” upgrade! I received the AT. QD mount and an ATN X SOUND hearing pro free from Optics Planet when I ordered and the mount looks good. We will see how it works after Christmas. The hearing pro is actually pretty nice. I have a couple pairs of Howard Leight’s that I like but these seem nice. They have Bluetooth so you could connect your phone if you are so inclined. Anyway, if you’re on the fence about a thermal, go for it. It’s kinda cool!

I really enjoy my ATN Thor4 scope but it developed a problem. I spoke to Milen Y in customer service. He told me to send the scope in. I was very surprised when I got my scope back in less than two weeks in perfect working condition. That’s great customer service. Thanks My.

Spoke with Jacob in customer service, emailed me a postage paid label, sent it in to be inspected and in no time they sent me a new one! Can't beat a customer service experience like that! Highly recommend ATN products.

Well it started off pretty rocky . I purchased the scope and it didn’t work from the get go . I brought it back and the place I bought it from and they sent it back to get repaired… the thermal sensor was bad. Two weeks later I get it back and let me tell you I was very surprised by the performance of this thermal . Sighting in was so easy, You cannot beat the performance for the price. It’s no Thor 4 640 core but I was spotting hogs out to 500 yards and ended up eradicating 12 feral hogs my first night and the longest shot was about 150 yards.
