The Barska 1-4×28 SWAT-AR Rifle Scope is specifically designed for tactical AR rifles such the M4 and AR-15 carbine rifles. Its compact size and low profile pair perfectly when mounted to a flat-top AR rifle. With the included cantilever AR mount this Barska 1-4×28 w/ Mil Dot Reticle Rifle Scope mounts low and ideally forward of the AR’s charging handle. The lowest magnification of this Barska 1-4×28 SWAT-AR Rifle Scope is set at a true 1x magnification that can zoom in to 4x magnification for longer distance targeting. At the 1x magnification this Barska 1-4×28 SWAT-AR Rifle Scope w/ Mil-dot Reticle can be used in conjunction with your rifle’s iron sight. The SWAT-AR features external target turrets that can be locked securely to prevent movement of the scopes windage and elevation. The built in sniper edged sun-shade is set back in the housing to allow the sun shade to cast a shadow and reduce glare for use in bright sun. The glass-etched mil-dot reticle illuminates from black to either red (for low light targeting) and green (for daylight targeting). Best of all, the Barska 1-4×28 SWAT-AR Rifle Scope comes complete with protective flip-up scope covers. The rules for high power competition have changed to allow optics, which is boon for aging eyes. The bullseye pistol guys have been doing it for years. The problem is that the optic has to meet NRA criteria – 4.5x maginification max, and objective lens 34mm max. There's not many scopes out there that fill the bill for NRA high power and the ones that do cost around $2000. This was the only one I could find at a decent price. It has a mildot reticle which is fast and easy once you're used to it. Beats cranking on your windage knob and then you forget how many clicks you had on it. The only issue is that the parallax is set at 100 yards, so you have to be sure your eye is centered behind the lens to get parallax free at greater distance. But for the price it is well worth it. Hey, I'm no master class shooter anyway, but at least now I can make a decent showing.

Can't be beat for the money, I bought two. Nice scope, clear optics. Actual scope delivered was a little different than pictured…tube is not a cantilevered shade at muzzle end as shown…it is actually flat/flush and has flip-up lens caps on both ends.

This is a great scope for the money. It has two small flaws which I will get out of the way up front. First, the lowest magnification isn't a true 1x and it has quite a bit of barrel distortion (which is fair, it's a budget 1-4x). I can still use it with both eyes open, but of course it isn't as comfortable as an unmagnified sight or an expensive 1-whateverx scope. The other issue is that getting the front cap to stay on unassisted is impossible because of that slanted shade thing on the scope, so just tape that on right when you get it.Despite its shortcomings, this is a good scope for the money. It holds zero, the quality at 4x isn't bad at all, and it has longer eye relief than a lot of other budget scopes (and my much-loved Vortex 3x prism scope for that matter).I did some research and decided on this along with a QD picatinny riser to give my dad to use on his Kel-tec Sub-2000, so the included cantilever mount was a bonus for the task of making a scope work on that strange beast. When it's all together it looks like something Dr. Frankenstein would appreciate, but it fits my dad's needs perfectly!

I received this as a gift after I bought my M1A. So far so good. Had to buy a lower scope mount for it since it’s kinda high for a M1A. Mounted good. Illumination is almost perfect. Exactly what I like. A crosshair that illuminates not just a dot. Gonna take it to range soon. Will update if I have any issues.

I love this scope!!!I purchased this sight strictly as a night scope to hunt hogs on our lease but after using it I keep it on my AR15 even when target shooting n deer hunting. It has improved my accuracy tremendously n is a joy to shoot.

The only problems that I have with this sight is the adjustment dials can slip while turning them, you have to tighten them up with the supplied Allen wrench and you can't see the reticle glowing green or red in daylight (they might be for twilight use only). Other than that it holds a zero with no problems.
