The product was defected (there is mist inside the scop and the vision is blurred) and I had to Return Merchandise. But OpticPlanet made an exchange for a new scope. Problem : I had to pay a second time for cutom duty taxes because they do not specifie it is a free exchange. The new scope is ok with a very clear vision.

This scope is hands down the best value in its class, comparable to the vortex razor, primary arms platinum and Trijicon 1-8.The reviewer who compare this scope to the strike eagle must have been referring to another Chinese scope because this is top notch Japanese glass with very distinctive tactile and audible clicks. Zero stop is a bonus because its unheard of at this price range for 1x to 8x scopes.

Reticle was very bright and glass very clear. Made in Japan. Unfortunately, it broke after the first range trip when the reticle decided to become crooked. Also the turrets seem very not good. I think mine are broken, or someone didn't tell the engineer that a turret should click only once per adjustment line not 2 or 3 times. Was going to love this optic before it exploded.

I was excited to get this scope after reading up on the specs. Looked good on paper but that's about it. The FOV is really good. But that's what you get with a 34mm tube. The red dot wasn't as crisp as others. This one was actually not even on par with some cheaper scopes. The edges were a little shaded and fish eyed even after attempting to adjust the parallax. Either it didn't work or that was lemon. I settled on this scope because I wanted something NOW, and didn't want to wait for the Gen II Vortex PST. Since the Vortex will not be available until mid spring, I chose the Sig Sauer Tango 6 1-6×24 30mm. It's on par with the Vortex Razor series. The Burris is about as good as the Vortex Strike Eagle. Only Vortex is half the price.

So either these other reviews had lemons, or there are haters out there. Seriously, at this price point, the XTR II 1-8x is 1/3 the price of the other manufactures. Made in Japan, a true 1X, FFP, illuminated, 34MM and zero-stop turrets. In fact the reticle works so well that one never needs to dial the turrets, unless you want to hold over past 600 yards. At 1X, the reticle has the speed of an Eotech. At 8X the reticle has the precision of a fixed 10 power. All of my SWFA-SS-HD 1-6X have been replaced by this XTR II 1-8. I live in the bright and hot AZ sun, and this reticle works perfectly at full illumination during our high noon sun.I don't know who with Burris decided to make a really good product in these XTR II's and sell them at a reasonable price, but I applaud that individual.I now own (4) Burris XTR IIs, starting with a 1-8 up to an 8-40, these XTR IIs are that good. Replaced a Bushnell Elite, Leupold Mark 4, SWFA-SS-HD and Vortex Viper PST.

I would compare the glass quality almost even to the vortex viper pst. The reticle was more clear with the viper though. At the vipers price point the Burris would a more even competitor. There are better options at $1100+ range. Burris needs to up their game and come out with another generation or lower the price
