The optics are relatively good, however the mount is a bit flimsy and unstable for high magnification viewing. Nexstar SLT series will be a much better choice as this scope is very unstable for high power. On good side is this scope is relatively light and easy to carry around. The 4.5'' mirror can go up to 200x and still maintain sharp view

Bought for my 15 yr. old grandson. Product arrived on time and in good condition. He seems to be pleased with it, however would like more powerful lenses and moon and sun filters, which I may purchase, if available.

The stand is flimsy as the mount to the computer base, the sight aiming optic with the red led is worthless as well. Bought the variable lens. It is good for looking at the moon surface closer, other than that don't bother. Stars appear just as the do in the sky, super disappointed in this even if it's an entry level scope. My spotting scope gives the same view.

Worthy investment, all you need to get started gazing the fascinating wonders of our universe. I am definitely not well experienced in this area "yet" but being an accomplished handyman and small business owner I can tell this telescope is well made for its class and with proper care will render years of quality service. Assembles easily, light weight and very portable friendly right out of the box. "Read the operation instructions thoroughly" you can inadvertently damage the motorized base by using unnecessary force (use the manual controls on the NexStar+ keypad). I set mine up during the day in my florida room first to get familiar with everything, while viewing out the back door. I located a small bird nest about a half mile away with my binoculars, using the 25mm eyepiece I aligned/focus the telescope to the nest (be patient) start targeting/adjusting the red dot finderscope to the object once you get the telescope and red dot zeroed in you're all set. Test your calibration skills on other objects. The Moon "if visible" is a good place to start night gazing, my first target(moon) was spot on with the finderscope. I was fortunately able to view the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn(Christmas Star) 12/21/2020 simultaneously in my 9mm eyepiece spectacular! "again spot on with finderscope" The rings of Saturn were very defined. The telescope tends to be a bit unstable while focusing after a couple of seconds after not touching the focuser it stabilizes. I am going to add some counterweights to help compensate instability. The first addition to my setup was a moon filter(highly recommend) and auxiliary power supply. Just received my Celestron barlow/filter set which includes; a carrying case, 2X barlow lens and 3 filters(red#25, green#56, blue#80A). Now that I'm getting comfortable with the Telescope on manual it's time to engage the software features. This is a good choice telescope for anyone that is interested in jumpstarting a new hobby/adventure. Due your research, add quality accessories especially optics, bottom line it delivers and doesn't break the bank.
