Their red dot sights are meant to be installed from the left to the right (with the muzzle facing forward). The dovetail has a progressive taper to allow for easier install. Simply remove the rear sight on your gun and replace it with one of these Red Dot Sight Mounts in order to mount your Vortex Viper/Venom, Burris FastFire, or Docter red-dot sight. You can take our mount off and replace your rear sight at any time. Mounting hardware included. Installation Instructions: Remove the rear sight. Install the Evolution Gun Works Sight Mount in the dovetail. Tighten set screw (if applicable). Place the red dot sight on the EGW Sight Mount (placing a small piece of paper between the red dot sight and the sight mount will make for easier removal and will keep Loctite off of the red dot sight.) Apply blue Loctite to the provided mounting screws. Torque mounting screws to 15in/lbs. 2 Button Head Cap Screws Provided for Vortex Viper and Venom Sights. 2 Flat Head Cap Screws Provided for Burris FastFire and Docter Sights. The screws that are included with this mount require a 5/64in allen wrench for installation. Modification of your firearm may nullify the manufacturer’s warranty. This product should be installed and checked by a qualified gunsmith. No liability is expressed or implied for damage or injury which may result from improper installation or use of this product. Please note: We have found that some red dots commonly found on Amazon such as the UTG and ADE may not hold the same tolerances as the red dots that this mount was initially created to work with. These dots may not fit properly on the posts on the plate. We would recommend either sending the red dot back for an exchange to whichever seller you purchased it from, or open up the holes in the bottom of the red dot to accommodate the pins. Let me preface this by saying I gave 4 stars only because I ordered it July 13th and it JUST was delivered on Friday 10/9, ( 3 months later) I realize everything everywhere is delayed but at the time of purchase I was told 2-4 weeks and I thought that was long, now at least they are saying 2-4 months. Otherwise it was perfectly packaged and comes with everything you would expect it to. So I have been looking for an RMR since the day I bought my X-5 right when sig came out with the bullshit “ NY SAFE ACT “ version. Nothing bad to say about the X5 as anyone that owns one would know, other than the ONLY red dot that fits it is the Romeo1. I HATE that they did that on a pistol that is considered a competition gun but I digress. When the venom was introduced I had seen something somewhere about it fitting on the X5 but it wasn’t real convincing and no info on how, so I was skeptical but so far I have refused to pay the $400-$450 for the Romeo 1 So it was time and I ordered it. I’m here to say officially, that it fits on the Sig Sauer P320 X-5! All you need to do is take a few mins of filing the REAR side of the RMR cut on the slide, use the longer set of screws they provide in the box, set the provided picatinny rail mount plate aside because you don’t need it, and mount the Venom directly to the holes in the slide and muah… perfection. I haven’t used it yet. I supposed that could change my star rating but I think I will be ok, as long as it holds zero and holds up to the elements and usage. So that’s my review. I really just wanted to put this out there so anyone questioning if it will fit on the standard Sig P320 X5, has an exact answer. YES! After removing the stock rear sight and about 3-5 mins of filing the REAR of the RMR cut on the slide, very easy and fits perfect. So if you want to save a solid $200 on an optic for your Sig X-5, go ahead and pick up the Venom. With a little shave, IT FITS PERFECTLY!!

Used this to mount a vortex venom on a p226. Well made, easy to install don’t see any reason why it won’t stay put. Great option to install a red dot on a non optic handgun. Have put a couple hundred rounds though it with no problems, with the mount or the sight.

It did what it was suppose to do for attachment of my Burris Fast Fire III red dot on my H&K USP 45. I will say it was very very difficult to install. It fit so tight. Even with a sight pusher. After getting it 3/4 the way install, I had to "pound" it on for final fit. It is the only option available for attaching a red dot to your pistol

I wanted to put a Red Dot sight on a pistol that was not set up for Red Dot sights. I did not want to spend the money to have the slide milled for the sight. The sight mount fit nicely into the existing dovetail, and is holding tight. The sight is only slightly higher than on a milled slide, as was a good alternative to the expense of having the slide milled.

I bought the Docter Sight Mount for S&W M&P #49308. I had to leave it with the gunsmith to install it because it was taking too much time. It was too large to fit in the dovetail sight press so the gunsmith did it the old fashioned way. Vise and hammer. We found the dovetail is slightly too large for the M&P 2.0 frame. It went in about 1/16" and wouldn't budge after that. Ultimately the mount needed to be filed down slightly front and backside to keep it even. Once installed it fits nice and tight. According to the gunsmith, he wasn't familiar with the EGW, but have seen other mounts slide in much easier. Maybe mine was defective by being too large so I recommend you try yours before filing. I shouldn't have to remind you to file the part not the frame, but I just said it anyway. Just be careful not to over file if you do it. I would definitely buy for another gun because I do like the fit and savings compared to sending my slide away for milling. The two piece mounts are only as strong as the two screws holding mount to dovetail. This one piece design seems much stronger. Despite the extra trouble it was, I recommend. Enjoy.

The mount was easy to install and is very rigid. Rigid enough to use the sight as a handle for racking the slide on a heavy sprung Sig P220 45 Super. After shooting 150 hardball 45’s and a clip full of 45 Super there was no shift in zero. And I mean no shift, I was hitting bottle caps at 10 yards 50% of the time with my 60 year old eyes.
