I purchased this mount after fighting with the mount that came with my magnifier. My original mount had play in it, both side to side and up and down. In other words, when I centered my red dot and flipped the magnifier out of the way, it would no longer be centered when I flipped it back. After a lot of research, I decided that GG&G was worth a shot. A good medium priced alternative to big names like Larue and others. Fit, finish and function are absolutely perfect. I couldn't be happier. Just one point of fact. This mount is a lower 1/3 mount, not an absolute co-witness as advertised. I have a Holosun 503G mounted on an American defense AD-T1-11 STD. It matches up perfectly. So, unless they changed specs over the last few months, it's a lower 1/3. With that in mind, BUY THIS MOUNT! The only possible reasons not to purchase this GG&G would be weight and no quick detach. My use is recreational, not duty, so neither point is a hindrance for me. However, you may want to compare specs with your other options, if they concern for you. I have a Daniel Defense grip and store my allen key in it.M&P15T, AT3 tactical 15" hand guard, Wilson gas block, AT3 tactical 2 stage trigger, Radian Raptor LT charger, VG6 Epsilon Brake, Magpul BAD, Yankee Hill anti rotation pins, Ambi safety and Daniel Defense Vertical Grip, Pistol Grip and Butt stock. Magpul BUS, Holosun HS503G ACSS, AT3 Tactical 3x Magnifier, Vector 5X Magnifier, GG&G flip mounts, Bushnell 3-9×40 w/QD mount and Primary Arms 4-16×44 with Green Blob scope mount(American Defense style for 33% price).

I bought this for my Aimpoint 3x magnifier because I really did not like the Aimpoint Twist Mount and didnt quite want to pay the price for the Larue mount. I used this magnifier mount behind my CompM3 in a QPR2 mount with the spacer and they line up almost perfectly, height-wise.To flip the mount open or closed theres a spring that you have to push/pull (depending if you mount it to flip to the right or left) against to clear a notch on the mount. What I really like about the GG&G is that it does not require excessive force to push past the spring tension. I have a Larue flip to side mount for my EOTech G33 magnifier and I feel that it is way more pressure required than it needs to be. It is probably worse for me since I am lefty and have to push the magnifier forwardband away instead of pulling it into my body if i was right handed. The GG&G has perfect spring tension in my opinion. If they made one for the G33 I'd ditch my Larue.

This was bought to mount an aimpoint 3x magnifier. This was supposed to be co-witness height but is closers to lower 1/3. I know other mounts are the same way. The magnifier sets behind an ampoint comp M4 with an aimpoint co-witness mount. Other than that it is a solid mount. The mount doesn't have any play and holds the magnifier tight.

This mount is not absolute cowitness, I spent $155 on a Scalarworks absolute cowitness mount and threw my aimpoint T2 on there and this magnifier mount is higher. They should fix the description to state lower one third, now I’m stuck with a $155 Scalarworks mount I can’t use or this $100+ magnifier mount I can’t use.

Super disappointed and took forever to get it – Overly stiff, after finally working the motion I noticed the flipping components had stripped some metal around the locking motion which is probably why I couldn't pry it open. I figured the manufacturer would test the action before packaging and boxing it, but I guess maybe they were in a hurry to fulfill the drop-ship after being backordered for a month. Solid otherwise and have yet to install it, but wish I went with a different brand.

Sadly this mount wobbled when the optic was in the on position, when I needed ot to be stable. But otherwise it seems well made.
