Holosuns newest SCS (Solar Charging Sight), the SCS-MP2-GR was designed to fit the Smith & Wesson M&P-M2.0 full size, 9mm & 40 S&W handguns (will not fit 1.0 or Shield models). It is designed to attach directly to the slide without an adapter plate and uses our innovative solar charging system with multi-directional light sensors to automatically adjust brightness in dynamic situations. The SCS can potentially operate indefinitely using an internal, rechargeable 20,000-hour power reserve meaning under even moderate exposure to bright light, you will never need to change batteries again. The SCS also includes an intensity override function which locks the optic into a high brightness mode for 30 minutes and a low power indicator, which will signal if charging is needed upon system start up. Pros: Excellent sight. I love the fact that it fit on my S&W as low as posible not needing a base plate. The brightness boost is good when needed like outdoors. Mine is a green dot and I felt like it wasn't much needed for my purposes specially as green works better in daylight. Still a nice feature. I did not find the 64 MOA circle much useful either. No big deal as you can super easily program it out with the push of a button. Controls are easy to use. It is easy to sight in and it co-witnessed with my M&P perfectly. The green dot on top of the M&M's red front sight really works good for me.Cons: There are only three brightness setting and one of them is the extra bright. All the setting were starburting the green dot. In reality this is not the fault of the sight. All handgun dots do that for my eyes. I prefer a manual adjustment which this does not have and it was clear before I bought this that it did not. So no fault of the sight. I new I was taking a chance. We don't have a local store to check this out in for over 300 mile should they have one. So the con is really I wish there were maybe 9 or 6 brightness settings to choose from. Surely one of them would have been better to my liking.Bottom Line. Nothing wrong with this sight. It works just like it says. The 64 MOA circle dot might be good on a tactical shotgun or for bird hunting which I did not try. Its to cold in Montana to try that right now and I'm a little lazy these days.

The SCS is my first handgun optic and I have to say it's a game changer! What a difference between this and open sights. With the optic mounted, I was able to hit two 6"x6" steel plates back to back at a distance of about 85 yards, something I doubt I could have done with only open sights. Fit perfectly on my M&P 2.0 and allowed for my suppressor height sights to remain visible as backup irons. Highly recommended!

I'm a big fan of all the Holosun red dots, especially the solar powered models. This very low profile model should co-witness with most standard height sights. As of right now these only come with green dots. The solar cell works good, but the auto adjust feature doesn't work as well as their other units. Even in a pitch dark room, the dot is very overpowering. I would prefer a plus and minus button to manually adjust the brightness. Covering the solar cell with black tape is the only way to tone down the brightness. For a simple dot with basically no maintenance this is a good choice. If you require more adjustability in the dot, a 507 or 407 may be a better choice.

This was my 1st optic and so easy to install on my S&W M&P9 spec series. No adapter needed. Barely had to adjust for zero at 25yds. I love the co-witness. It's very small and easily concealable. The solar charging battery is genius! I don't know why all optics don't have this! Only slight disappointment is the lack of brightness levels, it's auto sensing with a single override level. Otherwise it is hard to beat!

Great sight, clear and fast. Can’t wait to compete with it on my new Smith!!! Installation went fine, wanted an optic that could be used without a plate, this one fit perfectly. The circle around the dot is very similar to my EOTech. Very nice job guys!!!
