The RICO MICRO Series is an advanced electro-optic device miniaturized to deliver remarkably versatile functionality: Handheld, helmet mount, weapon mount, and clip-on. Weighing less than a pound, the MICRO will fit in the palm of your hand and can be used with standard dovetail helmet mounts or rifle-mounted as a stand-alone weapon sight. InfiRayOutdoor is blazing a new trail with features never-before-seen in a helmet-mounted thermal, such as onboard recording, onboard video play-back, and a high definition AMOLED display. The RH25 also features InfiRay’s latest high-performance 640×512, 12 nm sensor technology, MATRIX III processing, and a manual-focus f/1.0 objective lens to create an image that is unlike anything in its class. InfiRay Outdoor’s cutting edge manufacturing techniques and the highest-quality components on the market combine to produce an optic that is a step ahead of the competition in size, weight, and performance. The RICO MICRO has the features night hunters want and is more capable than optics twice the price and twice the size. I have ran this unit for a couple of months now, and all I can say is WOW! It is an incredible optic. The image quality is superb, and I have ran it on my helmet as a scanner, as a clip – on, and as a dedicated sight (all on the same hunt). I dont think there is another optic that is this capable, at this price. I Highly recommend this unit.

Video latency is the Achilles' Heel of the RH25 and many other thermal imaging scopes. iRay doesn't provide latency specs but I would estimate it to be around 200 ms. The result is that, if the user pans quickly with the device, the displayed image noticeably lags the direction in which the RH25 is pointed. This is fairly disorienting and limits the user's ability to navigate effectively using the RH25 in helmet mounted mode. The video latency also creates additional uncertainty about whether a target may have already begun moving at the time a shot has taken, limiting its use in ethical hunting. So for me the RH25 ended up being a very expensive handheld thermal camera. But if you're a nighttime varmint hunter/pest exterminator who isn't concerned with some occasional wounding shots that aren't immediately lethal the latency may not be an issue for you at all. iRay is doing a lot of things right here and the image quality on this really is fantastic.PROSVery good image qualityStrong, sturdy housingExcellent quality rubber used in buttons, eye cups, lens cover, 7-pin connector coverWide variety of options and features in a small handheld unitVideo outputImage storage and captureWifiCapability to be externally powered through 7-pin connectorVery nice carrying case and paddingMount included for standalone useUser's Manual is excellent – logically organized, clearly written and easy to followWide range of diopter and focus adjustmentsCONS*Noticeable image latency limits device usefulness*Latency specs not providedNoticeable delay during calibration (auto calibration can be disabled though)Rear eye cup is not self-sealing and allows light from view screen to escapeFile system errors during menu navigation can crash device and require rebootUndocumented small window on front of device, not described in User's Manual, that doesn't appear to do anythingCover for 7-pin power and data port does not stay in place, makes device vulnerable to elementsInternal compass is so unreliable as to be useless

If you want a compact thermal that delivers a great image and can fill a ton of different roles, this thing rocks. With some mounting hardware (not included) this can be used as a thermal clip-on in front of an LPVO or prism, or it can be used as a dedicated weapon sight. It can also be used as a handheld or helmet mounted thermal. To the previous comment about latency, it is definitely not as smooth as an analog PVS-14, but for thermal, 50 Hz is a lot better than other 30 Hz or 9 Hz units. I got mine from a local retailer, but would now feel confident buying online from OP if I ever decide to pick up another. If you want something really tough and really versatile that can fill different roles, this thing rocks. If you want a longer range rifle sight or something that only ever lives on a helmet, iRay has other options that are better suited to dedicated roles. One feature I love is that this uses an 18650 battery instead of some expensive proprietary battery.

I learned that thermal is a rising tech I needed to learn and understand, especially for hog or coyote hunting or nighttime perimeter checks around the campsite. The RH-25 is my first thermal, and I’m glad I dove in and broke the bank to get one. I have it rigged to a KVC Bridge with OSS Shoe on the left paired with my PVS-14 on the right. If you can get one, get it. Buy once cry once, you can’t go wrong with the RH25. I bet the dudes who got this at $6K are eating their hats right now. I would be too.
