birder –
I have been using these binoculars for a few weeks and really like them so far. I use them for observing birds and other wildlife. I enjoy the wider field of view than my previous 10×42 binos. The image quality is good. I have narrow-set eyes and appreciate the wider range of interpupillary distances than some other binos I have used. The action of the focus knob is smooth (as opposed to other binos I have had, where the focus knob was hard to turn in cold weather). I like the feel of the metal focus knob, and expect it to be more durable than binos that have rubber glued over plastic on the focus knob. However, because I have been using the Kowas only for a few weeks, I cannot yet comment on durability. They feel good in the hand, and I am hoping that the rubber coating will be durable. I have not used these binoculars yet in rain etc. The strap that came with these binoculars was far too short for my liking, but that is a minor complaint.
