Excellent product, highly recommend. You can combine the polarizer and killflash together or use either separately. Turn dial to increase or decrease light penetrating into the optic, helps reduce washout.

This product is essential if you plan on using the Meprolight M21 in a setting where there is an excessive amount of light. The optic reticle has a tendency to wash out in certain bright lighting conditions and this product makes the Meprolight M21 usable in these conditions.

I bought this "kit" because of the problem of the M21 sight not working well while the gun is in shade, and the target is in bright sun. I saw this hint in a video, so I took a chance and bought the kit.It works as described in the video. The polarizer lens can be rotated to lighten or darken the target, which in turn, lightens and or darkens the reticle to your desired brightness.I have no real need for the flash hider, but it's all one kit.Well built, solid, the polarizer lens ring is a bit stiff, which is a very good thing so it doesn't turn on its own or if bumped. The polarizing action is very obvious and works better than some other polarizers that I've used.I assume that the flash hider works well also because it its design. Although it does darken the sight picture slightly.

The polarizing filter is for intense light conditions like in desert or arctic environments. By reducing glare, one can see better into the shadows. This also makes different colors more saturated, again increasing visibility.The kill flash is visible as a screen which is a disadvantage but by reducing the light reflecting off of the front end of the sight this reduces the ability of whatever you are hunting being able to see your sight and then you. Lens hoods do this on scopes but then reduce the field of view. On most scopes past 3x this is not a problem but the 1x field of view of this sight is for quick target acquisition. Like lots of life, compromises are necessary. Under dim light conditions, simply unscrew both.
