After installed my scope works perfectly and is solid and holding zero like a champ, i do recommend taking your time with the fileing and fitting. It took me about 3 hours of time to hand file the tube down. I also recommend that you use blue locktight to secure all the screw threads

The amount of filing an finessing was minimal compared to a lot of other SKS modifications. It was very simple to identify where the filing needed to be done. All that you need to do is take your time and file evenly. It’s a great attachment, and helped bring a several decade old rifle into the new generation.

Was just looking for something cheap to finish a project. This fit the bill just fine. Fitting is just like a regular SKS, had to file the sides as well as the standard top and bottom bevel. Would definitely recommend for a budget build, or something being put together with spare parts. The rail is removable from the tube via 4 screws. Hex key and instructions included.

Compared to other optics mounts, this was by far the cheapest I found for an SKS. Depending on the manufacturer, it might drop right in, or you might have to file a few thousandths off. This is explained and shown very well in the directions, and goes quickly if you have an angle grinder, or access to one. I had to adjust the screws on top as I put an aftermarket stock on the rifle, but after loosening everything, and tightening them back down one positioned correctly, it looks great and is very sturdy. $25 and a little bit of elbow grease, definitely worth it.

Four stars it won’t let me pick how many stars for some reason I have a type 56 1963 Chinese arsenal 26 norinco! This is a solid item for a upgrade to run a red dot/ light/laser! No issues since installed! It says to hand fit soo we tackled the project! If you have the patience and time well worth it! It’s ALOT I MEAN ALOT OF SANDING! We sanded the back of the gas tube and the bottom of the rail on both sides to make it fit! It tells u to check piston seal inside the tube, mine didn’t have much suction on my thumb especially compared to factor gas tube, but we ran it anyways no problems on the range ran amazing!!

Took me 3 hours with a 20 year old metal file to cut it down to a tight and forceful fit.Remove the rail mount screws from the tube for an easier time filing.Make sure to keep both the gas tube and file level.Keeping the tube’s surface area from being lopsided.I’ve paired this with a KPM Side Bipod adding 1.25 pounds. Traditional SKS Bipod’s can be lighter at .56 pounds. The KPM bipod barely helps with felt recoilThink of it like a seesaw, with the bipod as the fulcrum. But it holds the SKS weight more evenly(as a fulcrum) which is what I’ve been looking for.
