I bought this scope to go on my varmint rifle and mounted it in a GG&G one piece mount. Very sturdy! Clear glass, very satisfied. No problems with retaining zero. Illumination does not wash out image, very clean illumination lines. Turrets are crisp and tactile! I would have given this scope a 5 star rating, but like the other vortex scopes I have bought the variable power ring is just too tight.Finish and craftsmanship is excellent. Come-up turrets are crisp and repeatable. excellent glass clarity.

For the price you cant beat it. I put it on my ar 15 for coyote's and prairie dogs. the power range is perfect (2) for close up shots and (10) for 500 yard prairie dogs. The shade extension can really come in handy on those sunny days. I ordered a ballistic turret, but until it comes, the zero stop works really well.

Set this on a new Daniel Defense M4 and was plugging a 6" steel target at 100 yards 10 out of 10 shots. A guy who hasn't shot in years and I am nailing it consistently with cheap Tulla brand ammo from 100 yards. Will have to go back and actually sight it in, maybe try some better ammo and further distance.

I've picked up a handful of these prior-gen Viper 2.5-10 models as I have found then on sale. Seeing that OP apparently managed to find a batch (somewhere) had me reaching for the card and putting one in the cart.As with my prior purchases of this scope it arrived with Vortex's usually quality. Crisp turret clicks and super clear glass. Out at the range (this replaced another scope that was mounted on a 20" Savage Model 10 Precision Carbine. Absolutely perfect getting it dialed in. Holds zero perfectly. Love the zero-stop feature (even if I think the little brass discs are something of a curiosity in how Vortex came about with that idea).If you can find one of these on deep discount clearance don't hesitate, they are fantastic and way way over the top in performance at the super discount price point.

I bought this scope to mount on an AR15 with 18 in. barrel designed to be more accurate than a normal AR. It is great so far. I am very happy with the scope. I am no expert but have shot rifles my entire life and I do have "higher end" scopes. This one is great. I have only had it a short time but so for so goo. My son was hitting 16" targets at 500 yards the first outing.
