Purchased this to put on my new S&W Model 1854 .44 mag lever gun. Optic looks great, has nice clear glass and crisp circle dot reticle. Multiple brightness settings with the + and – buttons located on the top for ambi access, and uses a AAA battery, and has Sig's MOTAC (shake awake) tech so it turns itself off when not in use, and turns back on when it detects movement. Also comes with a lens cover bikini.

I was wondering what happened to the original Romeo5 XDR series that took AAA batteries. This one is every bit as beefy, and it has the feature that the original XDR didn't have: a battery compartment that actually threads in straight, and can be opened and closed without marring the knurling (if you have an original XDR you know my pain).Romeo5 is the best budget red dot, period. This is the next logical step forward in its evolution, and I love it. Now who wants to buy a bunch of original R5's? :)Also OP….please release an OPMOD FDE version!
Great for the money –
The clarity on this optic is really good. I like the shake awake feature as well. I would have given it a 5 star if it came with a QD and a CR battery. The AAA battery is good but if you don’t stay on top of that those batteries can corrode. For the money though this is a great optic. The circle dot makes target acquisition easy and quick. I’d recommend it
