Make the move to the taller mounts! I worried about stability, consistency, and time to retrain, but none of these issues materialized. This was an easy transition from lower 1/3 and will never go back. Heads up and will work well with NVGs. I would recommend using the tall mount for the same motions during all scenarios.

I was originally looking at some other mounts in the 1.93” range but when Unity released theirs (although taller) with built-in backups I opted to give it a shot! I finally got a chance to get this mounted and zeroed and wow…absolutely love this mount. It promotes a more heads up posture which is why I was originally looking at these as it helps when shooting with prescription eye-where, among other things. In addition to all that, it saves space on firearms with limited rail space and keeps gasses when shooting suppressed further from your eyes, nose and face. Getting used to the height won’t be an issue and I can’t wait to add a 3x magnifier in unity’s mount behind my t2.

An amazing mount from Unity. The integrated iron sights, within the mount, are truly unique. They allow weights savings by not having to run flip ups. Though the sight radius is very short, they are more than enough for CQB. If you desire a longer radius, remove the “front post” within the mount and run a front flip up. The height is as well great. I don’t run nods(hopefully one day), I use it for running a plate carrier. It’s difficult to get your head down enough to get a good sight picture on a lower ⅓ co-witness mount, much less an absolute co-witness. The height of this mount allows a straight up neck/head position. No more grinding your chin into your front plate to get a good angle on your optic. Couple this with their 3x magnifier mount and you have something truly special. Unity is killing it with innovative products. I ended up picking up a 2nd one for my other rifle, I liked it that much. The height does take some training to get used to, but what doesn’t. Optics Planet had it out the door in no time, and at my doorstep in 2 days(during a mad scramble on arms/accessories). Two fantastic companies, I’d highly recommend both.

This is exactly what I needed for my AR. I've always had issues with my ear pro hitting the stock/brace. This solved that problem for me. Plus it's helped me get the rifle up and ready to use much faster. It's way more comfortable as well. I will never go back to cowitness or 1/3 height. All rifles should have a taller mount like this.

The 2.26 height is a game changer for me. Having lost vision in my right eye, I had to transition my weak side into my only side. This mount allows me to see the red dot on my right side with a normal cheek weld and as quick as intended on my new strong side (left). One thing that makes this less than 5 stars is that the FDE shown in product pics isn’t the shade of FDE you get. It’s brighter and more orange-yellow like gold.

I've only ran 30 rounds through it at 25 yards to re-zero the ROMEO5. I plan on zeroing at 36 yards, but I have to wait for the desert to open to get that specific range.I'd upload a picture for proof, but I don't see a way to do that. I am using the ROMEO5 with this mount. Used the screws that came with the ROMEO5 to mount it and so far so good. As I mentioned I've only ran 30 rounds through it, so I can't speak to it's capability to hold zero after a lot of rounds. As soon as the desert opens, I plan on re-zeroing again at 36 yards and putting a lot more rounds through it.The front post is a bit tricky to adjust. I was thinking about cutting down the short side of an allen key to make it easier to get in there. You will need a T-25 bit to secure it to the picatinny rail and a 2mm allen key to adjust the front post of the backup site. The only included tool is for the screws to secure the optic to the mount.Hopefully I will be able to edit/update this review after more use.
