The angled view Endeavor HD 20-60x82mm Spotting Scopecombines a nitrogen-filled magnesium housing and a fully multicoated optical path to create a well-equipped zoom optic for intermediate to long-range observation. Endeavor HD series features an extra-low dispersion (ED) lens system and phase-corrected BaK4 prisms, which maximize light transmission and produce color faithful images that are rich with contrast. This version of the Endeavor HD spotting scope includes a 20-60x zoom eyepiece featuring a rubber zoom dial. A 1:3 zoom ratio and 2.1-1.0° angle of view complement the eyepiece’s long 19mm eye relief and rubber eyecup, which help to provide additional viewing comfort for long-duration observations. In addition to the image quality and weather-sealed construction, the Endeavor HD includes several features that enhance the scope’s functionality. A stacked dual-focus mechanism enables the observer to make fine and coarse focus adjustments. The tripod mounting foot has a standard 1/4″ socket and is compatible with Vanguard tripods that accept the universal mounting shoe. An integrated sunshade and included custom fit raincoat carrying case help to make the Endeavor HD a full-featured spotting scope for outdoor use. I used it on the 1000 yard shooting range and found the clarity on target to be exceptional in various lighting conditions and temperatures. It performed as well or better than others on the range that were 3-4 times the cost. Pros: Top quality opticsCons: Would have liked to purchase the accessory for adapting my digital camera on the same purchase

I purchase this spotting scope for viewing targets at long range. I haven't got to the range yet but I did view a sign 1200 yards away with no problems. I verified the range with a Sig Kilo. I think I'll have no problem seeing targets at one mile with this. Notice I didn't say bullet holes, just swinging steel targets.

I bought this spotting scope bases on the review off Rockslide where it's compared to a swavorski ,any how I can also tell you their customer service and warranty is amongst the best ,I originally had the 20x60x80xf model and the day I got it fell and the plastic ocular broke ,I sheepishly and embarredly called Vangaurd warranty and they were great they said they would repair it no charge,So I sent in my scope for repair it started getting buyers remorse especially after reading all the reviews of the hd model so I called warranty and they said they would upgrade me to the hd model for 60$ which I jumped on and I am glad I did.Ive. compared it to a Leoupold at the range and I am glad I got the Vangaurd

After reading hundreds of reviews on many similar products, we settled on the Vanguard. Our main purpose is to look at the wildlife on the neighboring farmland. Our typical distance is 500 to 1000 yards. Having owned "cheap" scopes in the past, I was hoping for a better picture with the Vanguard. At 500 yards we can almost count the number of hairs in a turkey beard. Can't wait until the deer start growing antlers.I'm not an optics person; however, at low to medium power, the field of view is crisp and clear. The focus knobs work very well in harmony with each other. My wife and I both wear glasses; however we prefer to use the scope without them. The eye relief is excellent and much better than my hunting scope. As others have stated, at maximum power, the clarity under certain conditions is a little fuzzy. On a cold crisp day without haze, the object is clearly visible. On a warmer day, you may notice a little blurring at the edges; however, a slight reduction in the power level will eliminate that.Never had a scope with an eyepiece that was not inline with the scope body. Love the offset angle of the adjustable eyepiece. More comfortable to look down through the eyepiece, in my opinion. The enclosed case is nice and we are still waiting for our free tripod. At low power, you can scan the fields quickly looking for wildlife. I find the field of view at that power very good. This scope was not in our budget range; however, after much debate we elected to purchase this scope. We are very happy that we did. Obviously, the best way to purchase an item is to look at a wide variety of them at the same time under the same conditions. For most of us, that is not possible. No it is not as good as a $2k scope; however, if you are looking for something for casual viewing and can only afford items in this price range, I think you will be happy with the Vanguard. For wildlife viewing up to 1/2 mile, it suits our needs just fine. I would buy another one if needed. My wife loves it and she says that it is very easy to use. She can count the hairs in a turkey's beard at 500 yards.

Very nice hd spotting scope. Maybe a bit heavy for those backpacking great distances, but I find it very acceptable. I really don't know how they can make this for what they charge for it although I did have free shipping and 10% off through optics planet. I think its very well made and the lack of a fully covered rubber body doesn't deflect from the scope in any way. Eye piece is wide and easily attaches by a bayonet type fitting. Scope looks as if it will take some abuse and still work out great. Cover was a bit tight at the start but after some manipulation easily went over the scope. Front and rear objective and eye piece covers fit well on the cover but maybe an extra stud attachment would not go amiss just to keep them extra secure. All in all I believe I picked an excellent scope for the money and it will give me lots of enjoyment for years to come. I read lots of reviews before purchasing this scope. Sometimes I believe you can get a bit lost in all of the reviews that you read and become a bit confused. At the end of the day, this scope is worth way more than what i paid for it, and believe me,I am very hard to please. Even if I could afford a $2000 Swarovski I don't think I would get any more enjoyment out of it, than I do with this one. I am a very happy customer, M.C

I wanted to purchase a spotting scope for hunting in the West (mule deer, elk, antelope). Not having $2000/$3000 + to purchase a Swarovski, Leica or Zeiss and wanting something new and HD, my search for a mid level spotting scope brought me to the Vanguard HD 82A. After purchasing this spotting scope and using it for a week in the mountains, I have been nothing but pleased with this spotting scope. The price was incredible and came with a free Vanguard tripod with the purchase. My purchase for a new spotting scope came down between a Vortex Razor HD 20x60x85, Vortex Viper HD 20x60x80 and the Vanguard HD 20x60x82A. I was able to take all three outside the store and look at an object 700 yards away at mid day on a sunny day. All three scopes were very close in image quality and would be exceptional in the field. Trying to say there was a clear winner would be impossible. What made the decision easy for me was price and a $179 tripod included in the deal. At $1599 for the Razor, $799 for the Viper and $545 (with coupon) for the Vanguard HD 82A with tripod, $50 mail in rebate for the scope, $25 mail in rebate for the tripod, the decision was simple to make.Warranty: Vortex has one of the best in the industry…no questions asked. The Vanguard came with their Premium Lifetime Warranty. As Vanguard says: The Premium Lifetime Warranty does not cover theft, loss of product, deliberate damage, unauthorized repair damage, modification or disassembly of the product. In other words, dont use the product for stunt purposes. Dont attempt repair on your own or take it apart. Leave that to Vanguard. So how does the warranty work? Well when I took the scope out in the field, I noticed that at 30-35 power on the eye piece, It had a small speck on the outside edge of the scope. I cleaned all the lenses and it was still there, but only at 30-35 power. Needless to say, I still loved how the spotting scope performed in the field and was in the middle of a week long Mule Deer hunting trip. Sending it back for an exchange within the 30 day return period wasn't an option with shipping and return shipping. I wrote Vanguard an e-mail explaining my issue and asking what they could do to help. I received a reply e-mail the same day saying they would send a replacement 20×60 eye piece the same day if I provided my address and simply send back the original when I received the new one in the mail. All I can say is Vanguard has a new loyal fan in their line of optics.Performance: The scope is armored, has a built in sun screen, 20×60 adjustable eyepiece included, dual adjustment dials and a protective carrying case included with the scope. The dual adjust dials worked great and micro adjust brought the image in clear even at 60 power. The Vanguard will accept Vortex Razor eye pieces and the Vortex 30 power wide angle eye piece is listed as a must have for the scope. My favorite feature if the adjustable retaining ring on the spotting scope that allows your to rotate the angle of the spotting scope on the tripod. Great for when you are looking up the hill and want to turn and look downhill and can't move your body position. Spending a week in the field with the Vanguard and my hunting partners Swarovski HD ATS 65, I can say that the Vanguard held its own. Not knocking Swarovski's, as they are amazing, but for most guys who hunt a few weeks out of the year, probably overkill for most of us. The Vanguard may not be as clear to the edges as a Swarovski, but unless your looking through them side by side, you'll never even notice it. I can live with that and the extra money in my pocket that purchased a ton of addition hunting gear. We spent more time on the Vanguard than the Swaro's. I think the eye piece on the Vanguard is much more comfortable. The angled eyepiece was incredibly comfortable on the eye, the view was spectacular and clear and I had no problem finding deer at first light. I found mule deer over mile away with ease, in shadows, heavy brush and at the end of the day. I was impressed to say the least.Long story short, I am not an optics rep, don't work for Vanguard and absolutely love my purchase. I am tough on my gear packing in/out and I expect it to perform in the field. The spotting scope worked excellent and the company stands behind their product. It's light, feels durable and comes with a great warranty. For the price of the scope I'm not sure it can be beat. Pros: Clarity, functions, view, finish…exceptional value!Cons: If anything, the protective case that came with the scope. Could be better quality.
