This little Vortex Diamondback HD 8×28 is the little binocular that could! For the money, this is a best buy. The glass is clear, not quite to the edges, lightweight, waterproof. And the outstanding Vortex warranty! I have not used the warranty, but have heard good reports. All this for less than $140 dollars. Now, you have to understand these are not Swarovski or Zeiss, but a very good little bino for your car or pack or just about anything. Nice product!

I really enjoy these pocket binos in 8×28. They have a larger field of view than I expected but still smaller than compared to my Leupold BX-2 Alpine in 8×42 which are my primary general use pair for hunting, hiking, birding, etc. They feel very solid for the price. I have larger hands and I find it easy to turn the focus knob and manipulate the hinge. The diopter adjustment was slightly challenging but was expected with the smaller size. I was scanning a ridge line with the sun above the ridge at about 10 am and I could see some noticeable spots of glare. With my BX-2s (non-HD) there was no noticeable glare when scanning in the same direction. For a small pair of binos they are what I would have hoped for in the price range. I plan to always take these with me in my pack when I need to save space when I travel. These will be great to bring along on hikes in case someone in the group (especially children) don't have a pair to use.

Good Binoculars. Not great, not bad either. For the money, you get what you paid for, followed by the best warranty in the industry.Slight image aberration along edges as well as very slight color variance. Not real bright for low light conditions due to smaller diameter lenses as well as lens coating quality. For the price however, this would be a great choice as a backpack or back-up pair of binoculars. These are a go to pair of bino's in the goose pits, or a carry pair when hiking/scouting that are light enough to carry around your neck all day. Haven't really put them through any torture tests, ie, rainy/wet weather or getting knocked around but they appear very solid and well made. For the money, give them a try, just don't expect these to be Zeiss quality.

I like them so far. They are clear and bright. My issues are that it is hard to get your eyes in the center to avoid the black edges from creeping into view. They are pretty hard to hold steady. That's probably due to me not being used to lighter weight yet, but it is worth noting. They will do what I need them to and I am happy for that.

There I was, on a frog trip to Costa Rica. Looking at frogs but thinking about bats, you know how that goes. And then, we came across them. 3 gorgeous lil batties, roosting under a hollow log in a jungle covered in amphibians. None of us dared to move. It was the presence of my Vortex Diamondback HD 8x28mm Roof Prism Binoculars that saved the day. Whipping out my precious far-gazers, I was able to ogle these bats from afar. Always the gracious ogler, I even let my colleagues use them. To their extreme accolades.
