This is a really nice scope for the money. Personally I think that vortex scores are the best value for the money. And don't forget they have lifetime warranty. So here u have a nice, super clear glass, the nicest reticle options u can have and price. What else to say

I have five Vortex rifle scopes; they are super. Some of my friends say the glass is no as good as say Night Force and some others. Well I have never shot a Night but I hunt bug game in Idaho with Vortex scopes and this year with my Vortex I killed a,ten point whitetail at 350 yards, one shot, year before buddy shot 5 times at a,great whitetail,no hits, asked me to try; 557 yards, my first shot was 1 inch behind the left shoulder. I rest my case; I am 78 years old and can afford any scope I want; Vortex for me!

I am so pleased with this scope. This is the best and most expensive scope I have to date. Everything about it is quality. How it fits in vortex rings is quality. Everything is top notch. Made in Japan. So now I am making very small clusters of holes remotely. Life is good.

I sometimes hunt with large groups of friends that have too much money and want to show off their toys, and several in that group are like me, we want quality, and are satisfied with results. These wealthy friends have the S&B, Swarovski's, Zeiss Diavari's, Night force, etc. And I have looked through all of their scopes, long range and low lighting conditions. I own a Leupold VX-7 with 56MM scooped Objective. Great scope, but…. Now, Warranty, customer service, Vortex cannot be beat! Trust me on that. As for the Vortex style that would sit on my precision long range rifle, I looked at the Razor HD-2 and for days it sat in my online cart… I decided on the Gen-1 HD 5-20×50. The clarity is still there for 150-200 yards low light, but gen-2 is slightly better, that is about all between the two and could not talk myself into the extra $900 for that, and I am not afraid to spend the money if it is something I want or think will help me. With that being said, I will not bash the other brands, heck, a good friend drops deer and coyotes at 800 to 900 yards with a $350 Bar-ska… Do not try to be the flashy guy at the range, Vortex Warranty, customer service and the Razor H-D model is all you need. Draws in a lot of light with 35 mm tube, and crisp images. 20 power zoom, good for 1200 yards all day long

After a lot of research and talking to some fellow shooters, I decided to purchase the Razor HD 5-20×50 over the others I was considering. It fit the budget more than some of the other higher price point scopes. It also helped that Optics Planet had a limited time applicable discount on this scope where all other sites and suppliers were selling at MSRP. The unit arrived well protected and originally boxed with all the accessories stated it should have(Sunshade, bubble level, wrenches, instructions). I purchased the Vortex 35mm rings (also from Optics Planet)to mount it. The fit and finish of the scope and rings was excellent. The scope was laser bore sighted and taken to the range for 100 yard zero. The scope adjustments (clicks) are crisp and audible so you know what you are dialing without direct observation. The lenses are crystal clear and the reticle is very clearly etched friendly to the eye. The illumination settings are a little dim until you get up in the settings when its daylight if you use illumination. At dusk they work well. There is plenty of adjustment even with a 20 MOA base installed. The zero set turrets are easy to use and the instructions from Vortex are clearly written and have pictures. I hesitate to comment on anything farther than 100yards, because at this point I haven't had a chance to stretch it out yet. However just visually looking at distance through the scope I do not foresee this being an issue. I did not see the a lot of haze or distortion downrange like I have seen in other FFP scopes, so that was a plus. Overall it is a excellent scope for the price point and Vortex's warranty can't be beat. Shipping from Optics Planet was fast and shipping updates were easy to track down.

My search for a scope to match with my new T-C ICON Precision Hunter .308 hinged on the purpose of long-range precision. I quickly ruled out reticles that were mil-dot, whether they were the basketballs of Army reticles or the footballs of Marine reticles. I knew I would need finely etched stadia lines, and that's what I found with the Vortex Razor HD. My mind thinks in inches and yards, so I also needed MOA stadia for ranging purposes, and wanted this on the front/first focal plane. You'd be surprised how few options with these 3 characteristics are available in a known quality product. Thank goodness for Vortex at a cost of a bit more than half of another high quality product that I would have wanted. The scope appears and feels robust. The light transmission through this scope is bright and makes for perfectly clear target images (without my glasses). The turret clicks (.25 moa) for both elevation and windage are good and firm, and the paralax adjustment is firm and quickly brings the target image onto the same optical plane as the reticle. On the first day at the range, I was able to zero at 50 yds before running out of daylight, and on the second day I zeroed at 200 yds. I can confirm that this product's stated accuracy is within 1 MOA. Haven't taken this weapon combination to the 600 yd range yet, but I feel condident that I would recommend this scope to anyone.Pros: Clarity, reticle stadia, elevation and windage clicksCons: None so far
