Extremely clear picture and seemed like one of the best deals on the market. Vortex already has a great rep and I have many of their products. Initially people in my group to Alaska wondered why I had it but when they were able to see the amazing views and wildlife that much closer they immediately loved it too. It survived torrential rain, freezing cold, tons of fog, less than 5 ft of water submersion for under 5 secs and looks like nothing happened to it. Huge fan of this. Only regret might be not going with the 10x but that is nitpicking

Bright view, stiff but smooth adjustments, great package and adjustments, handy case, useful reticule. Vortex did a great job with this. Grab one if you’re on the fence about it, you won’t be disappointed!

The scope is great. The features are great.The means to adjust the eye, reticle and target focus is great.The glass offers undistorted, wide, and bright clarity.The first one I got had obvious dirt inside, so I returned it and got another one. Plus points for Vortex customer service.The second one is much better but has thousands of tiny particles, a fine dusting inside on the optics, which is only noticeable on the brightest of days and if you look for it. So the factory needs a clean, but the Solo itself it great. I have used it many times and the ranging feature is first rate after you learn how to use it. I'd buy another, but check for dirty optics.

This is an excellent piece of equipment to get a ballpark range in seconds. The optics are superb with flexible protection around the viewing end to block out distracting light and concentrate on the target. It arrived quickly and in good shape. The carry case is a bit flimsy but it's easy to use another sturdier/padded case for carrying the valuable monocular and the provided case can be used to carry other items that need less caution. The ranging reticle is sharp and easily read, and if ranging is not needed anytime, the monocular provides superb magnification for other purposes. A great deal, worth every penny at a very fair price.

The Vortex Solo Tactical RT 8×36 has multiple uses a few of which I'm starting to explore. It's definitely a useful tool at the range…better that binoculars for checking the accuracy of shots at any range.

I use iron sights and red dots at a low light indoor range and this This monocular makes life a lot easier. I don't have to bring the target back and forth all the time to see where my shots landed. Just pick this up and look down range. Good construction, even the case is quality.
