The PVS-14, arguably the most recognized Night Vision Device on the market. A Multi-Purpose Night Vision Monocular that’s been used by the US Military and NATO Allies all over the world. It is proven, dependable, and durable. The PVS-14 is everything you need and nothing you don’t when it comes to Night Vision Monocular. Backed by its military pedigree, the PVS-14 is completely mission capable giving you the ability to head mount, helmet mount, use as a handheld unit, or be configured for use with various camera systems. The Armasight PVS-14 uses commonly found AA batteries and delivers an outstanding 50 hours of battery life. If you do find yourself running low on power, a helpful low battery indicator will appear in your field of view while using the NVD. For those nights when there is little to no ambient light the Armasight PVS-14 has a built-in infrared (IR) illuminator to allow you to brighten up your surroundings which can only be seen under night vision. The Manual Gain Control allows you to adjust the brightness of your display to your personal needs. The Armasight PVS-14 delivers consistent performance allowing you to complete your tasks in the dark. We understand that night vision can be complex to understand. Armasight breaks it down by separating our devices by field of view, phosphor color, and by grading our tubes in a way that is easier to understand at first glance. Get to know our offering below to decide which tube you need in your next night vision device. Pinnacle – Looking to step it up a level with the Pinnacle of Gen 3 night vision? This grade is for you. This tube has a minimum 2000 FOM, with no inclusions in zone 1 of your tubes, and absolutely no inclusions sized .009″ to .012″ found in any of the 3 zones. Designed for a more experienced end user, Pinnacles graded NVGs can be found in the hands of law enforcement, hunters, and discerning citizens. Pinnacle 2376 – Take all the ingenuity that makes up the Pinnacle and add in what our Military calls “the perfect number”. Stevey GB –
Pinnacle tubes are a high standard of measurement. An Elbit thin-filmed Pinnacle tube surrounded by like-quality components makes for a shining example of the ubiquitous PVS-14. Armasight's strength and history renders into this excellent monocular. In a world is full of garage-wrenching night vision entrepreneurs, it's comforting to have the no BS street cred of this seasoned manufacturer. I've personally been out in the field with these PVS-14s countless times, often with pigs and coyotes and other beasts involved, alive and/or dead. One of these NODs are usually around my neck on its shoestring lanyard. The skull crusher works fine but for serious work or longevity you should have a helmet of some kind.Pinnacle tubes are clean and powerful with excellent contrast. Bloom is lower than with many unfilmed units I've used. Housing, optics, and switches are quality without shortcuts. Comes with full accessories including skull-crusher and J-arm.I used both the 2000 FOM minimum and and 2376 version, and both are shockingly great. Used separately, the 2000 minimum FOM units and the 2376 minimum units are not distinguishable from one another except when they are compared next to each other. Then the difference is readily apparent, if tested properly in the blackest conditions and some bright light objects thrown in for testing bloom. 2376 minimum units are a thing to behold, and "shine" when used in the most demanding light conditions. I've used them behind EOTech sights for hogs and coyotes and just for fun, although I don't recommend using any PVS-14 behind a NV capable weapon sight as a regular sighting mode because eventually you will burn a spot in the tube, in my experience. Sometimes the spot will work itself out and fix itself, but sometimes when improperly used behind a bright dot in an aiming device, you may permanently bugger it with a spot directly in the center of your field of view. When a NV capable weapon sight is set on NV mode, the aiming dot is generally not visible to the naked eye. It takes the extreme light amplification of the intensifier tube to make the aiming point visible. And beware. I've seen many red dot sights that claim they are night vision compatible but in fact nothing is farther from the truth. I'll stop now before ranting on this, but the ignorance of red dot manufacturers regarding what exactly "night vision capable" really is, would blow your mind. Yep, it's waterproof. It rains in the field and you sweat and bump stuff and drop things out of your pocket into mud and pickup truck beds and rocks and loan your stuff to people that don't care about it as much as you do or are just ignorant to the proper care of a very expensive night vision monocular. But the PVS-14 is not as delicate as many think! It's not a hammer, but it's not an egg, either. It's an electro-optic designed by our military to be used on the field of battle and easily maintained by young people that may have probably never had to be responsible for such expensive equipment before. It's a simple and robust hand-held, weapon-mounted, or head-mounted AA powered personal night vision device that has manual gain and an integral IR light. Manual gain is crucial to tailor the unit's performance to your scenario. Keep it low low low. I believe that most folks use way more gain than in generally needed. When head mounted, the IR light is incredibly useful for tying shoes, loading ammo, navigating branches, and gazing at formerly breathing porcine land-destroyers. My tube is so clean, almost no artifacts. A little spot in zone 3 at about 5:00, not even noticeable. In fact, it's not a defect, it's a beauty mark, like the mole on Marilyn Monroe's cheek. It just adds character and detracts from nothing.Pair it with a 3x or 6x lens to greatly increase the capabilities of your monocular! This is an excellent PVS-14, highly recommended.
