Great Scope. mounted easy and sighted in in 3 shots at the 50Y then verified at the 100. took it out to 300 and was spot on. I would recommend this to a friend. The scope was mounted to a 6.5 Creedmoor bolt action it held it's zero. Athlon has a great support network, I told them this scope was blurry at x24 magnification and they took care of me right away. hence the 4 stars I gave it.

So, I went forward with returning my scope after finding that it came out of the box with dirt inside it. I'm still a bit salty to have to pay to ship a scope back to the manufacturer when it shouldn't have made it through QC in the first place. HOWEVER, the replacement scope is nothing short of astounding. All my complaints with the initial scope have been addressed. The glass is very crisp and bright all the way up to 24x. It controls flare better than even my much more expensive scopes. The illuminated reticle is brighter than the first scope. The parallax and illumination dials on the first scope were so stiff you almost needed pliers to turn them, but the new scope's controls turn so smooth it feels like they are on ball bearings. My elevation turret cap does not make contact and ruin my zero with this scope when I put the cap back on. The first scope's cap would contact the turret and dial down the elevation when trying to tighten the cap. It seems they added a rubber gasket to make this happen, which should also mean that when the caps are in place, the turrets should be fully waterproof. The scope also tracks absolutely flawlessly so far when doing a box test with my most accurate pcp rifle. The gist of this is that I was completely disappointed in my first scope from Athlon. I bought a Bushnell Nitro 6-24×50 and it blew that first scope out of the water in every way. I didn't expect the replacement scope to even come close to the Bushnell, but I ran both scopes side by side on identical rifles in identical conditions, and the new Athlon leaves the Bushnell Nitro in the dust. The only area the Bushnell wins in is the turret feel. Not that the Athlon turrets feel bad, but the Bushnell's are better than my Sightron SII's and S-Tac's.If you get a properly QC'd scope from Athlon I have no doubt it will be a winner. Let's hope this new scope is what most users can expect to receive when they buy one new, and my initial experience was a rare fluke.

I primarily use all Vortex scopes on my rifle but after seeing a review on Youtube comparing scopes at the $500.00 price point or less I was impressed when this scope was listed in the top 3 along with the Vortex Tactical. As I already have a a rifle paired up with the Vortex Tactical I decided to give this scope a try and paired it to a new Cascade XT in 308. It is a SFP scope and all of the features worked extremely well the windage and elevation turrets are very tactile and you feel every click. The scope was extremely bright and clear and the magnification range worked flawlessly and was good enough that I did not need to use my spotting scope. This scope paired to the rifle listed allowed me to shoot some impressive groups off of the bench using a rifle mounted bipod at 100 yards, one group measured 0.455 and a second group measured 0.796. So overall I am impressed and pleased with the scopes performance and looking forward to using the lighted reticle for early morning and late evening shooting.

I took a little time to decide on trying this brand that I hadn't heard of and WOW am I impressed!I read many forums and wasn't getting a straight answer. So I decided to buy one and see for myself how could a $200 scope compare to the $1500 comparisons. Again I am impressed.I began this search as one of the components I was acquiring for a rifle I was building my stepson as a gift. When I received the package I was surprised by the packaging and documentation contained within. Now to be clear, I had purchased a UTG for his pellet gun – which he liked. OMG. So, I thought I would step it up a notch so that he could sit at the bench shooting distance with me. I purchased the Talos 6-24×50. In reading the propaganda, I found it to have a forever warranty. I was impressed as I am familiar with that coming on several of my high end optics. The clarity is very equal to my Trijicon, Steiner, Zeiss, Vortex and Nikon. The quality is very nice for a $200 scope with illuminated reticle. It is not the level of quality found on an above $800 scope. The cheap lens covers that were included reminded me of bushnell or redfield of my childhood.Overall, It is a great scope for the budget conscious. It has really nice glass, scratchable black tube coating and a forever guarantee. Its a great scope for the money and supposedly it is made in the USA!Ultimately, my step son loves it and now he too can punch holes at 500M.

This is the scope that I chose for my Ruger Precision Rifle, I wanted an entry level scope to match the rifle. Unboxing the Athlon Optics, I was impressed at the level of packaging that this entry level scope came in, it was better than some of the higher-level optics that I have. Optics were better quality than expected, and there were not any issues with the optics that I could see from my initial inspection. Both the Elevation and Windage caps fit very well, and the turret adjustments were tight and had a tactile feel to them. The Parallax adjustment was nice and have a consistent feel. The magnification ring was great, it was tight and had a good feel – it was easily adjusted and there was not any sloppiness to it when turning. The illumination was a little distracting on the initial setting, but with the level of adjustments, it was easily remedied. The only con that I could find, was the clearness of the optics past the 16x magnification, although this was not a surprise for an entry level scope. Overall, this is my first scope from Athlon Optics but it will not be my last. Very good quality, and very usable for my needs.

Very well-built scope. Scope is clear all the way up to 16 power then starts to get a little less clear. But aftersome focus adjustment it clears up a little better on power ranges past 16 power. Scope is in a very good price range for 6-24×50.
