To give modern performance to these old style scopes, they precision grind each lens to micron tolerances. Every lens element is individually inspected to ensure that its curvature, centering, diameter and thickness are within tolerance. This ensures optimal image resolution with minimal optical aberration. We fully multi-coat each lens with the highest quality DiamondTuff14 coating. Each lens surface offers >-99.5% light transmission across the visible light spectrum. The Malcolm 20X Vintage Target Scope offers the brightest, clearest, and sharpest optics ever in a riflescope of this design. Like their Malcolm 8X Gen II Vintage Sniper Competition scope, the steel tube features a laser spot welded rib for enhanced strength and rigidity. All threads and metallic parts are CNC machined to precise tolerances. All hardware is hardened for optimal durability and mar resistance. The Malcolm 20X Vintage Target Scope comes with their Vintage Sniper Competition mounts. The rear micrometer is patterned after the Unertl mount. Compatible with crescent cut scope blocks, these mounts offer precise 1/4 MOA adjustment clicks when the front and rear mount are spaced 7.250 from center to center. This mount has virtually zero backlash and ultra tactile adjustment clicks. Parallax adjustment is located on the objective end of the Malcolm 20X Vintage Target Scope. Focusing parallax for your desired distance is accomplished through axially shifting the objective lens housing by turning the lock ring and index ring. The range calibrated scale on the objective bell, in conjunction with the 10 division index ring, will aid in accurate and consistent parallax adjustment. Scope is exactly as described. I own a lyman super targetspot from the 1950's so it's easy to compare them . The glass on the hi lux is very clear . The design is a bit different and takes a little to get use to but I like it and do not regret buying it . They could have done a better job in the bluing department. The parallax at the end of the scope doesn't match in color buts it's not a big deal

I have not yet had an opportunity to shoot my Winchester 18885 High Wall bench rest rifle with the scope. Everything about the scope seems to be very well-made and the glass appears to be excellent. I'm glad that the bases were included, because the bases that were on the rifle were too low for the objective bell. Everything installed perfectly. I also found the instructions to be well-written. All things considered, I think that this was an excellent choice for my vintage bench rest rifle.

The Malcolm 20x vintage target scope is my first time ever looking thru and handling a Unertl style scope. I have a Mauser heavy rifle and thought it would be a good fit. To start off the Malcolm 20x comes complete with competition rings and .5” tall bases to fit a round barrel. All necessary tools and mounting screws (6-48) are included, this made set up easy. I drilled and tapped the bull barrel for the bases and spaced them according to the included chart for proper click value. After a bore site was dialed in, I set a target out at 50 yards and was zeroed with three shots, turret clicks are very positive and precise. Now about the glass and parallax adjustment all I can say is WOW!!! This glass is crystal clear, and you can adjust to a super sharp image, I was able to see 20 caliber holes at 100 yards.. yes, this Mauser is chambered in 204 Ruger. With a 100 yard zero and reindexed to zero turret caps I was cutting poker cards on edge with ease of seeing them, one shot one cut another shot another cut! With modern glass and superior target rings this is a great value for the vintage optic market
