When choosing a red dot, Make sure it has "shake awake" / turns on automatically when detects motion. This is key. Because the optic is not useful if you have to tell the criminal "hey wait a sec let me press the on button". Holosuns can enable or disable this feature.Also get an optic that has easy battery removal (such as this model), not that you will be changing the battery too frequently unless you leave it on 24/7. Thus you don't need to re-zero your optic after you change the battery.Wouldn't use for this model for competition. But it's Not hard to acquire dot. I bought this elsewhere but i'd recommend it. Also look into the 507k ACSS which has a large 230 MOA circle on the edge of the field of view of the optic which WILL help you acquire your target faster, especially newer shooters, as if you see the edges of that large circle you immediately know where to adjust. Same idea with 507c ACSS and 509 ACSS's.

Optics Planet has done it to me again!!!wonderful products, Fantastic selection, lack luster customer service.I ordered the HoloSun 407K along with that adapter for a Novak 1911 and it was sold with a two day delivery. Shocked as it did indeed arrive on time Very unusual with Optics Planet with virtually all my orders from them.However, the mounting plate was shipped from a different warehouse and it was sent "Free Shipping" I tried to contact Optics Planet and noticed that they are no longer answering voice mail, Email, and hardly ever pick up the Phone. After several attempts over a few days, getting computer messages and being hun up on by their computer, I was told that the adapter plate would probably arrive at my location in 6 to 10 days. WTF!!! His replies were very lack luster and more of who cares as it it was company policy to do such things in their business.Nice, I have a nice Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special that my old eyes cannot see the sights worth a darned, and I now have the very compact Reflex Sight and cannot use it. Knowing that it was sue to arrive in two days, I took time off to mount and sight it in. Now, wasted my time. AGAIN!!!I hate it, but I'm just about fed up with Optics Planet. It has taken me years to get to the point that I just cant see it worth the trouble of dealing with them.KnifeMaker-

This is, indeed, a GREEN dot site, expressed in the model number HE407K-GR X2. Green dots show up better under certain lighting conditions. Your application(s) may vary, but for me, this green dot is extremely easy to pick up. Highly recommend.

Overall a great product. Green dot is clear to see, feels durable and high quality. Adjustable brightness works great and the battery compartment on the side is great design. Only this I dislike is Holosun decided to switch to their own footprint from the RMSC, so if you purchase a firearm with an RMSC footprint you will have to get the barrel cut or get an adapter to fit the Holosun on the barrel.

Great product! Perfect round 6moa dot! Love it! Fits and look great on a S&W Shield plus or Sig p365. It has the side battery compartment for easy changing of the battery. The shake awake feature is Awesome!

Direct mount for Sig X-Macro. No issues with screws or function. Housing is thick which helps durability however it has a smaller window than some of my other optics. Cleaning the emitter and inner window can be a pain due to the depth but overall I’m happy with the purchase.
