FYI, bought this in 2018….I'm a tad behind in my reviews.I'm currently using the MI QD mount in conjunction with a Primary Arms red dot sight. I wanted a quality QD mount instead of the basic screw on mount in case I ended up swapping sights between different platforms, and at a reasonable price. I've used this mount in a couple classes and have had no signs of it coming loose; either the QD onto the rail or the red dot onto the mount. I like my current set-up and so haven't swapped it to another rifle, etc., so I can't attest to what zero shift (if any) it would have after reattaching it.At this time this is the mount I'd go with if I went with another T-1 footprint optic.

I wanted a new mount for my Romeo 4M that came with the single, skinny crossbolt mount. I felt that such a good optic was hindered by such a budget mount. After lots of research I decided upon the Midwest QD mount. I am glad I did because it is PERFECT. Mounts directly to the Romeo 4M with ZERO modification. The height of the MI mount is the same as the stock Romeo mount so absolute cowitness was not affected. The mount locks up very strongly on the rail when properly adjusted. I would have liked to have seen some recoil lugs built into the bottom of the mount but oh well, it's not going anywhere. If you have an older Romeo 4 or 5 that comes with the single crossbolt mount, this is the mount upgrade you need.

You optic will sit too high to get a proper lower 1/3 cowitness on an ultimak rail if u get the low profile mount. The locking mechanism is solid and the mount feels sturdy. But this does not belong on an ak ultimak gas tube rail. Buy the aimpoint mount.

I have used this mount with a romeo5xdr for about 2k rounds. No issue to report. The mount is easily installed and the QD mechanism is intuitive. Zero has not shifted when removed and re-mounted. I plan on upgrading the majority of my red dots to this mount style

Fit and finish are great and was happy to have this option to mount the Holosun 503G to, to make it QD and absolute cowitness. Will be using in conjunction with MBUS and HM3X magnifier on 16" 5.56 platform.

I wanted a low-profile mount for my SIG Romeo 5 red dot sight on my Mini-14. The Midwest Industries Aimpoint T1-QD mount was a perfect fit, and installed easily in minutes without issues or the need for special tools. The quality is terrific. Very solid mount that holds zero well. I like the push-button lever unlocking mechanism better on this one than competing mounts, it operates more easily with gloved hands than others I have tried. Not that I plan on running out of batteries or that it's easy to damage my red dot sight, but you never know when equipment might fail and you need to get it off in a hurry. My lifetime experience is with shotguns and traditional rifles, not ARs. My Mini-14 handles great with this lower mount. I get faster target acquisition (and first shot!) than I do with an elevated mount on a more bulky AR rig. I suppose with training I could get used to lining up the sightline on an elevated mount, but the traditional rifle/shotgun cheek position is second nature to me, and this lower mount lines up the red dot just a hair faster.Oh, and the price on Optics Planet during Cyber Monday week was phenomenal!
