This Simmons spotting scope is a very nice. The clarity is amazing! According to the Simmons website, this scope IS waterproof!!! It is housed in it's own soft case as well as a hard carrying case and with with a tabletop tri-pod…………….

This is a great spotting scope. Now mine was water proof because it was left all day and night in pouring rain sitting in a puddle. It’s got great adjustments and holds zero well. The glass is very clear. I live where it gets hot and humid. Thermals are normal and poor quality glass will destroy any chance to track hits . This glass gets you through the thermals where I can zero at distance . It’s a good company. I also own one of their scopes. I’m unfortunately my spotting scope was stolen and I’ll have to replace it and yes it will be with this optic

New purchase, to replace a stolen Celestron unit, for range spotting. The hard case and soft carry bag were impressive and immediately caused problems with my wife thinking I had just spent HUNDREDS of dollars!Lots of positives for a low-cost unit. Heavy construction with a nice table-top bench tripod accessory. Clear glass and more than adequate for picking up small-caliber hits on 100 yd. targets and 200 yd. splatter hits. Dials are decent with no grittiness or slop. Sighting is quicker than with 45* viewfinders. Fine adjustments are easily done without disturbing your setting. Might be somewhat water-proof, but I am not testing out that marketing. No fog or internal condensation to date, so it seems to be sealed as advertised. The only true drawback is the placement of the tripod mount pad behind the balance point of the body. It's very forward (nose) heavy making it necessary to tighten the vertical adjustment (leverage arm) very firmly. This results in a little difficulty shifting the scope vertically once set, in spite of the attached arm.Definitely a worthwhile expense for the purpose. A good bet for a glamping excursion, but too large and heavy to pack on a hike where weight is a consideration.

could see 223 holes at 200 yards clearly. eye relief is very small, you have to get really close to the scope. tripod is a little flimsy, front of scope is too heavy for it which makes it hard to adjust.
