I put this scope on a Bushmaster Predator which has a low flat rail. The rifle came with 1 1/4" mini risers for optics mounting, but they weren't needed. I used the Nikon 223 mount instead, and the scope has plenty of clearance yet is mounted closer to the receiver. The field of view is clearer than my Leupold. I read a lot of reviews since I had never purchased a Vortex before, and I am very pleased with the scope.

This optic is superb for the money. I decided to try this after owning several leupold scopes. In this optics class, it would be hard to beat. Definitely a respectable optic for almost any hunting need.

As advertised, clear optics, works very well in low light conditions. Vortex warranty and customer service is first class. This is my third Vortex scope, also own the 850 range finder. This scope is on my Browning .270 and holds zero.

I have had this Vortex scope mounted on a Remington 700 LA in .30-06. I used the DNZ Game Reaper mount also purchased from Optics Planet to create a rock solid platform. Anything stronger would require welding IMHO.I feel this is the Best Hunting scope for the money. As a matter of my opinion you could easily spend double and gain no benefits. The Vortex Diamondback is very light with ample eye relief and the clarity of the optics is amazing. It is simple, I do not feel like I have to carry a manual with me to operate it. The scope has a clear, bright picture; perfect for dusk or dawn hunting. The Diamondback has also taken a beating from the light weight rifle chambered in .30-06, no loss of zero or loose parts.A quality rifle scope, for this little money and a lifetime warranty? What is not to love?Pros: Clear, Light, Simple, Rugged and Price/ValueCons: Didn't get my free hat.(Like I need another damn hat anyway)

I own two Vortex Scopes, a DiamondBack 3.5-10×50 & a Crossfire II 3-9×40. I'm very pleased with both of these scopes, no complaints. I've read several reviews on Vortex Product where the purchasers were complaining about the glass was fuzzy at full power, the eye relief was inadequate and so on. To you I say this, if you wanted an optic in the class of a Leupold, Trijicon or a Zeiss then you should have paid $200 – $800 more and bought a Leupold, Trijicon or Zeiss, which by the way all have Limited Warranties. Point being, pound for pound, for the money you paid for the Vortex you purchased, it out shines any other Optic in that price range. As a very wise man once said "You can please some of people some of the time, half of the people half of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time"…..Nuff Said
